Virtual Lab

About VLAB:

Virtual Labs project is an initiative of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India under the aegis of National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT).  It is a paradigm shift in ICT-based education.

Physical distance and lack of resources make us unable to perform the experiment, especially when they involve sophisticated equipment. Also good teachers are always scarce resources. With the present day of internet and computer technologies, the above limitation no more hampers students and researchers in enhancing their skill and knowledge.

Virtual Lab will provide remote-access to lab in various disciplines of science and Engineering. These would cater to students at the undergraduate level, postgraduate level as well as to research scholars. The is to provide a complete Learning Management System where the student can avail the various tool for learning including additional web-resources, video-lectures, animated demonstration and self-evaluation.

Objectives of Virtual Lab:

  • To provide remote-access to Labs in various disciplines of Science and Engineering for scholar students.
  • To arouse curiosity in students and help them to learn basics and advanced concepts through remote.
  • To provide a complete Learning Management System around the Virtual Labs to provide students demonstrations and self-evaluation.
  • To provide remote access to costly equipment and resources, which are otherwise available locations.

Key Features of Virtual Lab:

  • Virtual Labs covers various types of experiments for students to perform online.
  • Modeling or simulating the physical phenomenon by a set of equations to yield the result of remotely triggering an experiment in an actual lab and providing the student the result of the carrying out the actual lab experiment remotely.
  • Accompanying audio and video streaming of an actual lab experiment and equipment.
