Authorized Partner of IIT Madras for Online courses (NPTEL)

The course closely follows the 40-part video course titled "Digital Electronics and System Design" given by the instructor as a part of NPTEL. Some additional material will also be given. The format of the lectures will be a brief introduction to each module given by the instructor followed by a detailed discussion session, in which the participants will be encouraged to participate after seeing the corresponding NPTEL lectures. There will also be assignments and periodical tests including a final examination.

NPTEL provides E-learning through online Web and Video courses in Engineering, Science and humanities streams. The mission of NPTEL is to enhance the quality of Engineering education in the country by providing free online courseware.

The course introduces you to digital circuits and their merits and demerits over analog circuits. Basic building blocks of both combinational and sequential circuits or introduces and many examples of circuit design using these building blocks are presented. You will also be introduced to the design of digital systems such as traffic light controller.
